Nestled in a quiet corner of southeast Virginia is the home of a small herd of Arabian horses known as Liberty Arabians, Ltd. This 26 acre equestrian paradise was established in 1985 by owners Mary and Bob Rombs as a small, quality breeding farm. The farm has evolved over the years as a place to find beautiful, athletic, and people friendly Arabian horses. This little piece of equine heaven usually produces one or two foals per year that are handled daily and are provided a quality, stress free environment in which to develop their natural abilities. We believe one of the greatest characteristics of our horses is their deep desire to please their handlers, trainers, and friends through their willing dispositions.
Our herd was founded with quality bloodstock from classic Crabbet and Polish bloodlines including *Ranix, *Raffles, *Bask, and Barbary. While utilizing the blood of such notable stallions as Desperado V, Bravado Bey V, Jullyen El Jamaal, Magic Dream, Shahcago (Bey Shah), Psynario (Padrons Psyche), Silver Cyclone (Tornado), and WLD Exclaim (Exceladdinn) the farm has produced Arabian horses that can successfully compete in the Halter and In-Hand arenas and then go on to the Hunter ring, Western arena, Sport Horse ring, Dressage arena, Over fences, and on the pleasure trail. We are committed to the improvement of our breed with each new generation we produce. Our horses have provided ourselves and their new owners numerous local, Class A, Regional, East Coast, and National Top Tens and Championships.
We have met many wonderful people over the last twenty years that have guided, educated, coached, and served as mentors in this exciting world of the Arabian horse. Our friends Ann and MD Hathaway, Jerry Modlin, Harold Ruffin, Sheila Varian, Lori Forcino, Judy Warner, Steve Dady, Jim Paden, Virginia Godwin, Phil and Resi Wolfe, Debbie Reid, Alexis Starer, Bill Doughty, John Detlie, Dominic Thibaudeau, Jean Jackson, Jackie Harris, Wes and Dr. Diana Bayless-Barnes, Jordan Brown, Allan Baggs, and Dr. John Sangenario, just to name a few, have always been there sharing their knowledge, excellent services, and support.
Being a member of the Arabian Horse Discovery Farm Program, we host numerous visits throughout the year welcoming newcomers to the Arabian horse world from churches, schools, 4H groups and families to our farm. Visitors are always welcome, a phone call is appreciated. We offer quality horses for sale and lease, limited boarding, halter training, conditioning, and lessons.
